Baby in Vain’s sophomore album “See Through” on vinyl.
A sonic taxonomy of resistance rock. At times upfront and confrontational, a little dangerous in the detuned dirge of Sonic Youth or sleazy fuzz shimmy of Royal Trux, emphatic and big, the lip sometimes curling into a sneer. Other times internal and contained, crystalline, shy and pretty like shoegaze, leading with fine dynamics, or filled with the faraway choral warmth of dream pop, the gentle unity of girl-group gang vocals, or the tentative joy of garage, where all the possibilities of kids with two guitars and a drum set were born.

Seek Shelter is an exciting merger of inspiration ranging from pop to country to classic rock. The album is variegated, but enthrallingly cohesive. It's innovative, but customary to the Iceage sound. They've outdone themselves. Johannes
I feel like I could have written this song while with my ex. It is so bitingly truthful, holding back none of the bitter reality of feelings that a toxic relationship establishes. The build up of vocalization is spitting, heartwrenching and really brings the lyrics to their fullest emotional potential.
Can’t describe how much I love the juxtaposition of extremes recurring throughout this album, both lyrically and thematically. izze32
